- The US death toll from the coronavirus pandemic climbed past 3,000 on Monday (Mar 30)
- Total deaths across the United States exceeded 3,000, including at least 540 on Monday, and the reported cases climbed to more than 163,000, according to a Reuters tally
- "If we do things together well - almost perfectly - we could get in the range of 100,000 to 200,000 fatalities," Dr Deborah Birx, coordinator of the White House's coronavirus task force, told NBC's Today show
- 'Mathematical models predict over 200,000 deaths to occur in the USA' – Dr Anthony Fauci
- Illinois reports first known coronavirus-related infant death in the USA
- Governor Hogan states that the situation in Maryland will get worse over the next few weeks. This was in response to Trump's statement that he would like to see parts of the USA reopened
The Politics:
- Trump has dropped the idea of a New York lockdown after they hit 2000 cases so the CDC (Centre for Disease Control) issued a travel advisory for the New York region
- Trump refuses to take any responsibility for the failure of the government and the CDC in combatting the spread of the Coronavirus
- The number of coronavirus-related deaths in the USA has doubled over the past few days so Nancy Pelosi (the speaker of the house) has criticised Trump's handling of the pandemic stating that his failure to protect the citizens of the USA has resulted in the deaths of thousands of innocent Americans
The Healthcare:
- As cases exponentially explode in Iran, the USA has decided to place sanctions which is hindering its access to drugs and medical equipment
- Louisiana's governor declares that the state's healthcare system will be overwhelmed soon:

---> area hospitals will run out of beds soon
** in addition to this, a Louisiana inmate has died
- U.S. civil rights office moves to prevent discrimination over who gets lifesaving care
